The newest and premier Dog Daycare and Boarding facility is opening soon in Lakeville! Puppy Play and Stay seeks a Pup Stylist/Bather to join our dedicated team of pet lovers. Our facility is state of the art and offers plenty of comfortable room to work. In addition to grooming services, we offer play spaces for dogs to “play like a puppy” on our Fun FURniture, take a snooze on our cots or enjoy the sunshine in our outdoor area.

Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of and experience with grooming and caring for pets in a boarding & day care environment. Our Pup Stylists are responsible for grooming and bathing dogs in our care. Dogs may be pets that are boarding, pets that come in for daycare or pets that come in solely for grooming/bathing. Pup Stylists must have great people skills in order to talk to their clients and be able to transform their wishes into the perfect pet groom. This is an on your feet, hands on position. Pup Stylists are employees and are paid via hourly wage and commission. This position will require the ability to juggle a variety of responsibilities, with a strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Dog Groomer/Bather

• Bathing completely each time until water runs clear
• Making sure dogs are 100% dry
• Brush and finish dogs
• Nail trimming and filing
• Ear cleaning
• Anal gland expression
• Teeth brushing and/or add on services such as de-shedding, facials, deep conditioners

Skills you must possess:

• At least 1 year of prior grooming experience
• Careful, kind, and safe with all breeds and temperaments of dogs
• Be able to lift both small and giant breed dogs and restrain them for their safety when necessary
• Have a positive and upbeat personality
• Be able to communicate with dog owner to ensure services they require are understood and or concerns are communicated after
• Finish all dogs in a timely manner
• Be able and willing to perform walk in services such as nail trims and ear cleaning
• Support others whenever necessary
• Maintain a clean environment including keeping (but not limited to) hair and debris off floors and taking care of laundry.
• Provide exceptional customer service with a smile
• Must be able to lift 40+ pounds
